Roof Leaks

Fortified Roofing and Siding of Columbia, Mo executes in-depth evaluation to determine the severity of the damage. With over 17 years of experience we specialize in honest recommendations to determine if you need a repair on replacement.

Roof leaks are the most common roofing problem and they are not always obvious to homeowners.  They can exist just beneath the surface letting in droplets of water that can compromise your home.  Roof leaks exist way before they leave stains on your wall or ceiling which is why leak repair first begins in leak detection.  We search the entire roofing system to find the cause of the leak from the attic to the chimney and the individual shingles.  Water leaks can be very deceptive; the location of the stain is often times far from the actual roof damage. Once inside the attic, water travels along rafters and horizontal surface making the entry point difficult to find.  Because of this, we inspect the whole roof and attic to identify the problem and offer you a complete repair solution.  We make sure to eliminate the leak at the source rather than treating the symptoms.

How did the water get in

When your home has shingles that are missing, cracked or damaged, water can began to seep into you home.  At that point you are at risk and what you thought was a small shingle problem just became a bigger and growing problem.  Water entry can also be caused by missing flashing around the chimney or some other weak spots on your roof.  Lastly, leaks can be a result of ice dams.  Ice dams is a wall of ice that forms at the edge of the roof, generally at the gutters or soffit, and prevent the melting snow from draining off.  The dam causes the water to back up under the shingles and into your roofing system
